Yes, I'm running X at boot time.
I've posted this question on a forum specifically for the machine in
question, and have just been told that Linpus doesn't use the standard
sysv setup (I guess that's why 'runlevel' doesn't work...). The
suggestion was to add the startup commands to rc.local, however I'd
also like to make sure that the daemons shut down properly as well.
Especially mysqld - I don't want to risk any data corruption. Am I
worrying needlessly? How do you automatically shut daemons down if
you're not using the sysv setup?
