What kind of laptop is that? Do you want to have dual boot that you can
switch XP or Linux? I used Fedora,Ubuntu. Now I am using Kubuntu. How did
you organize your partition on your hard drive? And did you check for
drivers of Linux for your old laptop? Did you used live Ubuntu CD on tihs
laptop? Maybe you can first reinstall XP then check for the drivers of Linux
for your laptop. First of all you should check by using live CD of Ubuntu.
