I've tried 3 card readers of varying ages. One works on Fedora, the
other two work on Win 2K and Winxp. None work on Ubuntu in a fresh
install. Manually attempting to mount gets:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdc,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
