RHEL, or Red Hat Enterprise Linux, is designed for business use, for servers, rather than laptops. You can't even get updates for it without a paid subscription to the Red Hat Network. Try Fedora instead - still Red Hat, but more for regular users but no less powerful; in fact more cutting edge, free updates through the yum repositories and newer/more advanced versions are released more often.
