I'm trying to set up dual display with my laptop and a 22" monitor. The laptop has a 15.4 inch and i've tried to use xrandr and grandr to output to the 22" but I keep having problems. What i ultimately want is simply this: i want the laptop monitor to work like it already does, and it doesn't have to change anything while i output to the 22". I just want to use the 22" as an extended monitor. I don't need wallpaper, but if there is going to be wallpaper, i don't want it to stretch part of what is on the laptop over to the 22" i want it to take the wall paper and copy it to the 22" AND NOTHING ELSE. I really can't even get it to mirror things right. I've tried to set things up with the sys pref display resolution but that doesn't seem to work right. And I either don't understand xrandr or it doesn't work either. I was given this link to check out xrandr http://wiki.debian.org/XStrikeForce/HowToRandR12
Can anyone PLEASE help me. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Linux Users Group.
