If I can summarize the problem: 1) Knoppix works 2) Fedora 1 does not work 3) Ubuntu 6.0 does not work
Questions: 1) What version of Knoppix did you try? Here's a list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knoppix#Versions 2) When you tried Ubuntu 6.0, what do you mean by "does not work"? Can you not boot from the CD? Can you boot from the CD, but not install? Can you install, but not boot from the drive? Can you boot from the drive, but not get a GUI? Can you get a GUI, but not connect to the Internet? Can you connect to the internet, but not get you your favorite website? Something else? 3) Are you able boot from an Ubuntu 9.04 CD? http://www.ubuntu.com/GetUbuntu/download If Knoppix 5.1.1 or later works and Ubuntu 9.04 does not, we can use the Knoppix CD to troubleshoot the problem.
