My wired NetGear GA611 v2. Works directly out of the box. Lights are on, and my network configuration is able to see it's a wired connection.
I enable the wire connection in the network configuration, and select the to option to automatically use dhcp, to obtain a ip address from the server upon connection. Now, I visit my devices page on my router and I'm not able to see that server2(wired, netgear ga511, Debian) is connected. No, it is not listed under devices pages. Nor, can I visit any web page when browsing the web from the debian computer. Do I need to have something else open to obtain connection with my router? Guide me please! You're making this very difficult, it's like pulling teeth. So, your ethernet card doesn't have any driver, then, is what I'm gathering? Guide me please! Let's start with these: - Are you using the GUI or the command line when you run into issues? - Is network manager running? - What program is giving you the error? - Are you starting a dhcp client? - What is in your /etc/network/interfaces file? - what is the output of ifconfig -a? - what is the output of route -n?
