Well, it's still difficult to give you the solution, because we don't know the cause. fsck (I'm guessing you meant fsck and not fsk), is run very frequently at boot time. This is not a problem. The root filesystem frequently starts off in read only mode, this is necessary to run fsck.
How long do you wait before pressing the power button? It sounds to me like the machine is trying to run a simple filesystem check and you're interrupting it. You need to post error messages (verbatim... type exactly what's on the screen, word for word, don't paraphrase it).
