I use Vi. In the past eg unix days, and Redhat. I could go to a file look at it go to a certain line and then quit vi. The screen would not refresh it would just exit me and leave the text that I was looking at on my terminal.
In some previous OS's when this didnt work I could put the following in my .bash_profile export PAGER=/bin/more Then files would just quit leaving the last text I was looking at on my terminal. However this does not seem to be working for me now. When I exit it clears the screen, removing the text I was just looking at on my screen. How can I stop this. Im using SME server linux built on CentOS although I'm not sure it makes a difference and Vi version 6.3.82 (based on my reading anyway) Regards --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Linux Users Group.
