What is kernel 16? What problem is Clam AV reporting? What package are you
trying to report about? Where did you get the package you're trying to
report about?
Usually to install "genuine" Linux Mint packages, you use the Linux Mint
package manager (which, IIRC, is like Debian: try Synaptic if you're using
the gui, which it sounds like you are).
Yes, Linux Mint is free.
