Glad you are still sticking with Linux. As distros become more feature rich
and popular (like Ubuntu), they will stop working on older hardware. It's
the nature of the beast. Linux was famed for working well on older hardware,
and it's still true to a point. It sometimes means you can run the latest
and greatest. You might think about trying another distro. Mandriva 2010
just came out, and they tote lightweight desktops for netbooks (might run
good on your laptop)
