so, where does the "wl.ko file is not present" error come from?
Because, it is present and appears to work properly.

Also, you said kwifimanager shows no signal -- does it say the access
point isn't there? Or can it find the SSID, but with low signal?  Either
way, have you checked the silly environmental things? (i.e. antenna(e)
on router/computer are installed & tightened, access point's not encased
in lead, etc.)
