Tabbed browsing became popular when it was introduced by Firefox
similarly now you may be able to see tabbed windows very soon with
release of KDE SC 4.4 beta1

Here are a few new changes in KDE SC 4.4

    * Tabbed windows to be introduced.Just like tabbed browsing
introduced in a big way with the Firefox, Now tabbed windows may come
to to your desktop.
    * The Nepomuk Semantic Search framework has been improved a
lot.Finding files used earlier has been made easier with timeline
view.
    * Blogilo, a rich-client blogging tool; Cantor is an application
which provides a nice KDE-integrated Worksheet Interface for your
favourite mathematical applications; Rocs, a Graph Theory IDE are just
a few of the new list of rich applications added with it. Gwenview
image viewer and the Dolpin file manager have been further improved.
    * The Plasma Desktop has been made smoother. Managing desktop
widgets has been made easier with the new widget explorer. Plasma
widgets can now be shared with other users over the network and the
handling of storage devices in the desktop shell has been streamlined.
    * KAuth authorization framework included in the KDE Development
Platformhas added many new features.
