Hey Bill,

You might want to check out the following projects:

Arduino...they are making an Arm port but not yet finished(extremely
popular)
http://www.arduino.cc/

Blackfin They have several types and ARM also(very popular)
http://www.analog.com/processors/blackfin/index.html

Beagleboard ARM(very popular)
http://beagleboard.org/

Hawkboard ARM
http://beagleboard.org/

Sheevaplug ARM5, but with a whopping 512MB of storage so you can run a
full distro on it...it's not really embedded, but it's a nice SoC with
gigabit ethernet and a CSE(cryptographic security engine) it writes to
encrypted medium FAST.I have 2 two :o)

Foxboard ARM
http://beagleboard.org/

Gumstix
http://www.gumstix.com/

IGEPv2
http://www.igep-platform.com/

What do I suggest...Beagleboard because you want ARM but Arduino is
really nice. This isn't the whol list but it's a good one. You may want
to look at QNX RTOS also. QNX Neutrino is a very robust RTOS that has an
amazing set of tools to test and deploy any and everything.
