Oh dear, a language war.

As a battle-hardened C/C++/Objective-C programmer, I'm just going to
ignore that as hyperbole.

If you can't write a good program in any language, then you have a
problem.  Certain languages are better for different things.  I
wouldn't necessarily start writing a web app in C++.  Java, maybe.
Ruby, absolutely.  PHP?  Never.

Oh fun, another interpreted language to add to my stack of slow things
to ignore.
