Careful what you wish for.  The collective best guess so far is that
uvishere has faulty hardware and Ubuntu is guilty of damaging that
hardware.  Change over to Mint/Fedora and they become the culprits,
i.e. "Mint/Fedora destroyed my computer."  Since your name is
associated with the recommendation, the accusation could even morph
into "Xavier destroyed my computer."

So we may want to establish what happened before making any
recommendations of what distro to use.  But that choice is up to each
individual.
