on fedora/centos/rhel, do a 'yum search openoffice' then do a 'yum install
' followed by the package name
(eg. yum install openoffice.org-writer.x86_64 )

on ubuntu and debian derivatives, do an "sudo aptitude install
openoffice.org" or "sudo apt-get install openoffice.org"
