Your point is well taken as well. However, we also need to make new ones
understand that everything in Windows do not work out of the box as well -
apps and drivers need to be installed. The only difference in the Linux
world compared to the Windows world is that we have the needed drivers and
apps in an accessible centralized manner (repos) and we just pull them using
yum, apt, emerge, etc...

Sometimes people just ask too much, I think? Dont get me wrong. I'm not
against Mint or any distro that "spoonfeeds". Heck I even think that Ubuntu
and Fedora are doing too much spoonfeeding :). A little challenge for the
user wont do much harm.

A lot of Windows users nowadays doesn't even have the common sense to
explore, in fact, all they do is whine (but not all). Hopefully that won't
happen to the next generation of Linux users...
