That's true of all terminal emulators in linux, because ^C and ^V are
meaningful (interrupt & 'verbatim').

He said he's using Shift-Ctl-C and Shift-Ctl-V, which are
gnome-terminal-emulator shortcuts for copy & paste.  From the sound of his
post, nano was binding to the terminal emulator extensions & grabbing those
shortcuts (so they didn't work).

Just to clarify.
