You saying *with* makes me think that neither Virtualbox nor Wubi is really what you are looking for. By the sound of it you are after a slightly more integrated solution in which case I would recommend these;
- CoLinux (http://www.colinux.org/) runs the Linux kernel as a Windows service. - Portable Ubuntu is CoLinux paired with Ubuntu. Official links seem to be broken, but http://lifehacker.com/#!5195999/portable-ubuntu-runs-ubuntu-inside-windows has some info. - Cygwin (http://www.cygwin.com/) is a posix compatibility layer and set of packages and tools that works ace for both compiling and crosscompiling software. This one is the winner if you are only after the console :) Neither of these require repartitioning, and all of them run from within Windows. It's been a while since I've used CoLinux but I *believe* that it shares the filesystem with the Windows host just like Cygwin does. If you are looking for a pure linux experience without having to repartition, you should stick to Wubi tho. Or even better, go with the real deal ;) - Chris -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Linux Users Group.
