I use these dictionaries on my computer: http://hunspell.sourceforge.net/ http://www.stardict.org/ You can check their web sites for installation details or check if your distribution already has packages you can install. Hunspell runs via command line or ncurses. Stardict uses GTK2, so should fit in well with other Gnome programs. Here's the Suse page on Stardict: http://en.opensuse.org/Stardict
