I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for ( I don't have much time to check it right now) but there are a few kernel drivers/modules that relate to Dell laptops in general:
[this is from linux 3.3-rc3] CONFIG_DELL_LAPTOP This driver adds support for rfkill and backlight control to Dell laptops. CONFIG_DELL_WMI_AIO Say Y here if you want to support WMI-based hotkeys on Dell All-In-One machines. CONFIG_DELL_WMI Say Y here if you want to support WMI-based hotkeys on Dell laptops. I came across these some time ago when I was figuring things out on my toshiba, so I'm not sure if they will be of much use. --Ireneusz Gierlach On 02/22/12 13:26, Scott Vargovich wrote: > I searched the Arch Wiki and duckduckgo.com <http://duckduckgo.com> for > a way to get the volume control buttons to work on my laptop, but found > nothing useful.
