You can force the ownership on the server in the samba config. You can
force any PART of the ownership - like group - in the samba config. On my
server I enforce both owner and group to achieve equality amongst users,
but guarantee that I, as network admin, can also perform any necessary
functions. Since the users are members of the group, and the group has full
privileges, it all works.
In smb.conf
force user = the-user-name-you-choose
force group = the-group-name-you-choose
