Jeremiah,

In my case - on a whim I went into wicd's preferences and in the dhcp
client section, and changed the (Automatic) setting to dhclient and it has
worked flawlessly since then.  I think the auto mode was using dhcpcd which
doesn't work as well.  Thanks for checking it out and posting your results.
