Wish I could help, but Idaho is a long way from So-Cal, lol. It's also really hard to do technical activities like this over the phone/video chat (as anyone who has helped family with computer problems from long distance can attest to).
Hopefully we have a group member in the area. Have you also posted the same request in r/linux on Reddit? I know there is some faux pas about cross-posting, but our group has limited activity now days and you may get a quicker response.
