Good Morning, Looking for directions/assistance with Ubuntu install. I'm getting error messages and I'm unable to figure them out.
I've download Ubuntu to a CD and boot from the CD drive. I get to the Gnome desktop with the install Ubuntu icon. That's where I get lost. I start the installation and get where I can choose the type of installation. I want to install Ubuntu as a dual system with Windows 10. After selecting "Dual" system I get "Starting sector number, 494967296 exceeds the msdos partition table. Don't have a clue on how to fix this. I go back and choose "Something Else" with a 500GB drive attached with 3 partitions and I get the following: "No root fie system defined." Regardless of which partition I select I get the same message. I have choices of multiple file systems to use Ext2, Ext3 and Ext4 journaling or btrfs or JFS or Fat 16 & 32, but don't know which one to use. Any links anyone may have that will keep me from asking no so smart questions would be greatly appreciated. I'm also a member of Unitrunker group. Thanks!
