Hi All,
I faced a peculiar problem while installing fedora core 4 on Intel 915 Chipset Motherboard. First CD was giving kernel panic error. Even "linux mediatest" and "linux rescue" was not working. I tried changing media. But the same CD was working prpoerly on other machines.
So I guessed it was related to this specific hardware. So I searched for solution on google. I found a very weird solution to this problem. But somehow it works. When you get to the "boot:" prompt type something rubbish. It will generate some error message. Then type linux mediatest. This will start mediatest. Skip it and proceed to the installation.
