I've been using vim to browse man pages. Take a look at this: http://www.gentoo.org/news/en/gwn/20050725-newsletter.xml#doc_chap5 Forget the emerge part, that's how packages are installed on Gentoo. You'll only need to install that info plugin if you want to browse info pages using vim. The man plugin comes with the default installation of Vim on Gentoo. I'll take a look at the ebuild and tell you if it's available with the standard vim as well. Right now I'm not on Gentoo so can't check it.
