Hi all,
I am trying to implement vacation mail alert in sendmail.I done the
following thing, but unable to get perfect result.
Sendmail server ( RPM :- sendmail-8.12.11-4.6) which is come with
Fedora core 2 Step to configure vacation mail. :--

1) Install vacation-1.2.5-1.i386.rpm
## rpm -ivh vacation-1.2.5-1.i386.rpm
2) Create the new user say test1
## adduser test1
## passwd test1
3) under /home/test1 i created the following 2 file
.vacation.msg & .forward
i.e /home/test1/.vacation.msg
/home/test1/.forward
4) Under /home/test1/.vacation.msg I Typed my message
From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: Out of the office
Delivered-By-The-Graces-Of: The Vacation program
Precedence: bulk
I am out of the office until 23 August 2004.
Your mail concerning "$SUBJECT"
will be read when I'm back.
In urgent cases, you may contact XYZ
Test1
5) Under /home/test1 i write
\test1, "| -a test1 /usr/bin/vacation test1"
6) Then i type vacation -I for implementation
Then from another user when i send mail i was unable to get vacation alert
mail.
Can any body tell me where i am wrong, and what is the detail of step 5.
Help me .
