Hi,

If you are talking about the external command argument then be rest assured
since this option only allows the admin to modify tasks from the web interface
like changing the next scheduled time, mail options, etc.

Also if you need to disable this option then there is no need to recompile the
binary. You can just change one argument from 0 to 1 or vice versa in its
config file to disable the external commands options.

Thanx & Regards...

Hi Frnds,

Dear ajaz/Muzaffar

I am having one confusion regarding nrpe
i had installed nrpe with command argument enable options and in security file
it has been returns that it is "security risk" by doing that .
Whether doing this my server ports r open to outside world. If this will be
true then i think i had to recompiled it again with no options.
kindly suggest

Regards,
Shamshad

Hi,

Nagios client side binary i.e. nrpe checks for the service status every 5
minutes and then update the web interface, which too takes some time. When you
stop the service wait for a few minutes and then check the status.

apache.
Eg:
#chown apache:apache .htaccess

that's it...
Enjoy ...........

server both different m/c with linux flavours RHEL3 AS.
I had checked with the commands which we used to check the configuration files
all r coreect.

But the thing is whenever i am opening my browser i am geting a pop-up window
for username and password . I had made the entries in .htaccess files also in

I had installed nagios server version nagios-2.6 which is a network monitor
tool.Also i had installed nagios pluggins nagios-pluggins- 1.4.5 .

Everything is working fine. But when i had started my web server i am getting on
screen only services for localhost only

That is i can only see localhost services on monitoring screeen.

I had tried a lot but unable to connect remote hosts to nagios server.

For connecting host i had also installed nrpe-2.6 on client m/c but unsucessful.

If anyone knows how to configure nagios and how to connect client m/c to nagios
server pls let me know .

Thanks in Advance

Shamshad
