Hi,

As you say after switching off and then on and cleaning it solves the problem 
(though temporarily), then methinks there is some hardware problem. Get your 
hardware checked first.

I am continously facing a problem while taking backup when i run a command 

mt -f /dev/st0 status

I am getting the output as " no such device found" and it has been noticed that 
the tape is stucked in tape device.

Temporary i am putting off my device and the put it on and cleans it with a 
cleaning tape and then it starts wotking fien fro 5-6 days but then again the 
same problem.

I am getting following error in logs
