Ok... the real cause of the issue is due the limit of 2gb on the mail box.
/var/spool/mail/massmailer and other mail box under it are limited to 2Gb. Since we are not concerned with mailer daemons as a copy goes to another mail account on a different server, I set a cron to clear the local mail box every hour.
