Hi, I am a bit surprised to note that ls -al does not show file creation time. Any time that gets displayed using options such as -c, -t etc. are actually modification time. For example, if a file is created say on 22nd may 2008 and today i open it and add a line to it. The modification time changes to 23 may 2008. But, later down the line, if you want to when the file was created; its doesn't show it! Is there any other method to know the creation time of the file?
