Hi,
You can configure it under chroot but then you have to set selinux for it.
Simple method is remove the chroot rpm an then you will get simple config under
/var/named.

Can anyone plz. provide me with a simple named.conf file and its zone
file. Also where the zone file needs to be pasted. in /var/named/ or
in /var/named/chroot/ var/named .My current named.conf file is in
/var/named/chroot/ etc/named. conf. I tried with my own zone file but it
gave the error during service named restart

Stopping named: [FAILED]
Starting named:
Error in named configuration:
dns_rdata_fromtext: /var/named/db. inside:3: near eol: unexpected end
of input
/var/named/db. inside:4: unknown RR type '14400'
zone example.com/ IN: loading master file /var/named/db. inside:
unexpected end of input
_default/example. com/IN: unexpected end of input
[FAILED]

Note: My domain is example.com and the zone file is db.inside.I had
"named-checkconf" my named.conf file which gave no errors. And
named-checkzone my zone file gave the same error as above.

.
