Dear,
        Cmd is correct but there is no backtick before $ sign and after curley 
bracket, it is single inverted comma. You have messed up with backtick and 
inverted comma. Backtick is before awk and after passwd.

 ` is backtick
' is inverted comma

edquota: User awk -F:  doesn't exist.
