I have server with 750 x2 sata hdd (no raid.) model name      : Intel(R) 
Core(TM)2 Quad CPU    Q6600  @ 2.40GHz

memory 8 GB on pci ethernet card realek 8169
 
I ahve created smaba and ftp over in it..
 
whan I copied some bulk data in smaba directory or ftp directoy through windows 
machine...
 
sometime its go damm slow 
 
means sometimes ping reply is constant and some times packet losse means 
requested time out..
 
I ahve changed lan card and patch cable..switch port..then also it goes down 
slow and 
while copying..
 
so will guys have any Idea of it..means any sloution....

Hi,
   How much distance is there between the two machines which are sharing data.? 
Use CAT-6 cable, it has less data loss rate. You must try doing Ethernet card 
tuning in sysctl.conf with the help of sir's essential CD.
