Oh!

I thought you wanted to get rid of squirrelmail footer -- my bad!

Adding a Disclaimer note through MTA is a difficult task. I think it can
not be done by MTA alone. Reason being email messages will be a
combination of text/html and-or MIME attachments. So how does an MTA
know where to insert the disclaimer? -- It will therefore need milters
that handle such tasks -- for instance, Mimedefang can do it for
sendmail [currently using Mimedefand with sendmail to insert in to
headers (which is easier than disclaimer, i guess) but it is resource
hungry, being a perl script]. Or you can use things that can tackle
MIME.. for instance gmime libraries. Since we are still working on it
(on modded-qmail), I cannot for sure say the outcome of email messages
when being altered in this manner. In our tests we have sometimes ended
up with three line email messages which contain just the first 2-3 lines
of header-- body and attachment lost.

While I was tying this response came across qmailrocks thread that may
help you..
http://forum.qmailrocks.org/showthread.php?t=2412

But in the end it says the same thing... when attachement is there,
disclaimer may fail.

check it out and let us know if it worked well for your setup. If it
did, do not forget to give us an overview of your system.

regards!
