> I am facing a problem in Qmail I am able to log in the squrrielmail but not able to see mail in Inbox of the squirrelmail nor in /home/vpopmail/domains/domainname/user/Maildir directory > DNS ip 192.168.1.25 > Squrrielmail ip 192.168.1.26 > I am using ADSL modem
Hi Shayam, 1. I hope you have disabled SELinux in RHEL5 2. Did you follow any documentation in setting up qmail? If so, which one? 3. Are you going to host multiple domains? --- is that the reason for using vpopmail? If you dont want to have virtual domains, then dont use vpopmail. Just set up Maildir hierarchy under /etc/skel and add Linux users. 4. Before we jump to squirrel mail for debugging the issue. We need to understand that Qmail settings are correct. Have you done 'ps fax' and checked that all qmail process are running fine (not in defunct state). Also check process 'readproctitle' what does it say? 5. What is the softlimit on smtpd/run file ? I have mine on 22mb (23068672 bytes) bcos I have simscan running on it and a hell lot of traffic. I would suggest you to increase the value. Normally, the values given on LWQ and QmailRocks are a bit on the lower side. Always worked and failed in my case. And qmail log are not accurate in pointing source of issue. However, you will find lot of help with qmail log entries on the WEB. 6. Never stare on Maildir folder to see if an email arrives. Keep a watch on the log files.. If you have followed LifeWithQmail (LWQ), then the path may be: /var/log/qmail/current -- for message transfers (qmail-send) /var/log/qmail/smtpd/curent -- for SMTP (tcpserver) connection logs Keep an eye on the two logs mentioned above. You want to increase the size of the logfile too if traffic is more and you want to keep 24hrs log data. 7. Once you can figure out that Qmail is perfectly set up. That is, there are no issues with process and a mail sent using telnet or mutt has reached user's inbox.. i.e. /home/vpopmai...../user/Maildir/.. (Vpopmail) or ~user/Maildir/.. (if linux user). You can proceed to Squirrel mail. Lets us know about your checks. Thereafter configuring squirrel mail is a piece of cake.
