JD for the position System Administrator: • 2-5+ years of system administration of Linux/Unix is definitely a must. • Good Knowledge / working experience on Linux Redhat / Apache Tomcats web-servers. • 2-5+ years previous Operations or technical Support experience preferred • Knowledge of Web-based technologies, Windows and Unix platforms • Knowledge of standard internet based services such as Apache, DNS and SQL. • Ability to create Linux/Unix scripts for administration, backups and server monitoring • Ability to communicate clearly both written and orally in regards to technical issues • Ability to train others on system administration tasks. • Self directed and has the ability to achieve objectives with little direction • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. • In-depth knowledge of Solaris, Linux, Apache and SAN. • Ability to mine data from log files and databases and present in graphical form for easy review. • Ability to troubleshoot and manage Linux and Unix based servers with little or no supervision.
Responsibilities: • Responsible for managing few instance of CentOS Linux Server along with multiple Windows 2003/2008 Servers • Responsible for day to day troubleshooting for technologies like Microsoft Exchange Server 2003/2007, Microsoft Office SharePoint Services, ISA, WSUS, MS Virtualization 2008. • Responsible for AD, ADC, DNS, DHCP in Windows Platform. • Installation and configuration of x64/x86 servers & user’s system in local and remote location • Responsible for storage management & timely backups of Exchange, Active Directory, SQL 2005/2008, AX, SharePoint etc. • Installation & configuring of test & production servers for the development team across India & US • Responsible for escalation management directly with the vendors like Dell/IBM in US for any hardware issues • Collating the shift handover documentation to ensure all parties have visibility of incidents closed and ongoing, service impacts, outstanding requests and scheduled changes • Monitoring services through the use of monitoring tools like WhatsUpGold/MOM/WSCM etc. • Understanding of Microsoft CRM, Microsoft Dynamics AX would be preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in a technical stream with certifications like CCNA/MCSE/MCSA/RHCE is a must • Demonstrate organizational skills, able to prioritize and manage time effectively with minimal supervision • Able to successfully interact with all levels of an organization while building rapport and trust • Flexible to work extended hours as needed.Willingness to work in shifts. • Prior experience of having worked in an IT/ITES brand is mandatory.
