ROLE PROFILE: Engineer – IT Tripwire Specialist
Team Name : IT Global Operations
JOB /ROLE PURPOSE:
Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and support of the
Tripwire tool (Linux based) deployed within Travelex.
SCOPE:
Working across Travelex worldwide.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Essential
• Ability to administer and maintain a globally Deployed Tripwire deployment
• Full understanding of fundamental concepts in Operating Systems like
Microsoft, Exchange and relevant Networking
• Experience of documenting systems
• Must have a broad knowledge in the following areas of technology; networks /
telecommunications; desktops / servers; mainframe / mid range computing;
messaging / Internet (e-); enterprise management systems; data management
• Administration level certification like MCSA, RHCP
• Diploma or higher in Engineering
• Basic understanding of IT Security Principles (Defence-in-Depth, risk-based
security)
Desirable
• Exposure to Multi-location Enterprise class Infrastructure setups
• Familiarity with IT Security issues.
• An Administration level certification in an additional Operation system like
Novell, Linux, Sun would be an advantage
• Specialist security certification, such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CCSP
• Awareness of IT Security Compliance (PCI DSS, Data Protection Act, Sarbanes
Oxley, ISO17799, etc)
• Exposure to security products and technologies such as Encryption, (Decru)
log management (EnVision) and IPS.
CORE SKILLS:
• Ability to take a structured, methodical, disciplined approach to procedures
• Understanding of security threats & methods (Hackers, viruses, hoaxes, spam,
etc)
• Understanding of defensive technologies (anti-virus, firewalls, IPS, event
monitoring)
• Ability to effectively communicate security issues and concepts to technical
teams
• Experience of vulnerability scanning & remediation
• Experience with WSUS and patch-management
• Ability to administer Win2000 & Exchange environment, including IIS, DNS,
DHCP, WINS
• Ability to develop sound relationships with service team leaders, other IT
functions and customers
• Ability to update skills and knowledge relating to future trends in Intel
Server technology and industry standards
• Excellent problem solving and planning skills, a flexible approach with good
verbal and written English communication skills
