I found out that OLEDs on my Intuos4 Wireless are actually 4-bit colour
instead of 1-bit. I don't know (yet) a method of setting 4-bit icons
over bluetooth, but I have a proof that it can be done over USB. The
proof: http://firszt.eu/wacom-icons/i4wl.jpg It's close up of one of the
OLED displays on Intuos4 Wireless connected with USB cable.

My ideas how to handle the 1-bit and 4-bit icons for Intuos4 family:

1. Make a double icon set. All tablets using 4-bit. I4 WL in bt
(bluetooth mode) using 1-bit part of the set. Best quality & biggest
work to implement it.
2. One 4-bit set, conversion to 1-bit on-the-fly if I4 WL is in bt mode.
Less work & possibly poor quality for I4 WL in bt mode (bt mode is the
most important for me)
3. Find a way to set 4-bit OLEDs over bt and use 4-bit across the board.
I don't know if it's possible, but that would be the best solution.
4. Ignore 4-bit capability for I4 WL and use 1-bit for I4 WL and 4-bit
for the rest. I don't like this one- it's like driving a ferrari and use
only 1-st gear ;-) That would give consistent user experience as the
icons in bt mode would be the same as in USB mode.

If you have any other ideas please share them. Comments are more than
welcome!

Kind regards,
Przemo
