  thanks for the reply, pressure sensitivity is perfect (0-1023) and 
  feels right too.. the problem is with the button recognition, which 
  is generally inconsistent, what i'm noticing is anything smaller than
  about '400' presure is not triggering the button '1-UP' call, even 
  though the pressure is completely released. thus i get a bizarre 
  xidump reading that looks like this:

  i've gone through a number of recent kernels and versions of 
  linuxwacom and nothing has solved this. i'm using xinput for
  the gimp and inkscape, which AFAIK use a combination of pressure
  (tilt) and button up/down messages, so i'm 'stuck'!

  ps// i keep this box up to date with recent revisions of
  all major libraries and apps, so i wouldn't think that an
  archaic version of xorg/gtk/etc is keeping me behind.
