Hello Armin,
did you change the /etc/X11/xorg.conf so that X will know how to handle your
tablet?
I made a german Tutorial for getting a Wacom tablet work under (at least)
Ubuntu/Debian and SuSE. You can find it at the german gimpforum.de:

group" you ment?)
