http://freshmeat.net/projects/wacomexpresskeys should hold a pointer
when the editors wake up (US crew is asleep, Australians heading for
bed).

Freshmeat release announcements are restricted to a mere 600
characters, and yet they ask you to write in full sentences... My
original text was more than 1200 characters! I'll copy both versions
here:

Expresskeys has always been about the coveted buttons and touch strips
found on certain Wacom tablets. But with version 0.3.0 it enters the
scary grey zone of being useful to a much wider tablet audience. In
fact, to any user of a 'stylus' from the aforementioned company.

It is now possible, regardless of tablet model, to have the pen
pressure sensitivity altered automatically when moving from one program
window to the other; "Just like in Windows".

However, in order to accommodate this feature, some major alterations
of the program internals were necessary. Outwards it is visible by a
new configuration file structure, and indeed even a new name to that
file.

Previous users might be seen as compensated by enhancements like
automatic device discovery at program launch - command line can be kept
almost empty, built-in 'kill' and 're-read' switches and the usual set
of code cleanups that facilitate further development.

And, as a bonus to all true artists out there, a graphical
point-and-click configuration utility is being worked on (separate from
this project). Presently it handles expresskeys 0.2.x, but 0.3.x
support is assured. Wacom-config can be downloaded at

Ok, happy painting! But remember to read the BUGS file (the NOTABUG
entry). Complaints pertaining to Gimp or Qt3 programs should be
directed to them, not me ;-) I've done my very best...
