I agree.. If all devices and links are created in /dev/input when you connect
it that part should be fine.

I would add the X-server to the list of suspected places as well.

What you describe here and together with the logs you've provided in your
previous mail sounds very odd..

Have you rebooted your computer since you added the wacom-specific
packages/made the wacom-specific configuration changes with the tablet
connected? Not just log out/in or suspend, but a full reboot. If not, start
with that. I have not seen that the X-server re-read its xorg.conf or
re-loads its drivers when you only log out/in, and the logs indicate that
it's using an old configuration and driver.

If you still have problems send a recent set of logs that we can look at, as
I'm not sure how the logs you've sent relates with the changes you've tried
with.

Relevant part of the dmesg output (pull out/insert the USB-connector,
and then run 'dmesg | tail -20')

All of /proc/bus/input/devices

All of xorg.conf

All of /var/log/Xorg.0.log

xidump -l

xidump -l -v stylus

If you have access to the Xubuntu installation from the other (or the other
way around) you could compare the files between the two installations, maybe
that can help you a bit.
