I entirely forgot about the prebuilts, linuxwacom-0.7.6-4 works perfectly on 2.6.19-1 kernel I tried compiling linuxwacom-0.7.6-4 and linuxwacom-0.7.7-1 from source and got the above error. Unfortunately my Xorg is a bit of a mess with bits of the most cutting edge xserver added to the standard xorg 7.1 on edgy. Sso I'm not really sure if it is a 7.2 problem or just the mix of headers etc I have installed. There were no obvious error whilst compiling.
