Sounds like your tablet is mapped to /dev/ttyS0 since you got data from
/dev/ttyS0 while moving the pen on the tablet. But, I don't know why xxd
dies. xxd doesn't work properly may not be the reason that your tablet
doesn't work. Please turn debug on in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf (adding Option
DebugLevel "10") and check /var/log/Xorg.0.log to see if there is anything
suspicious. You can also email your xorg.conf and log files to me directly
so I can take a look.

I'm trying to setup linux on my Tablet (Motion m1300) with the latest
Kubuntu. And I can't get the digitizer to work.
Kubuntu automatically recognizes the serial port as /dev/ttyS0. It sets
it up as:
UART: 16550A, Port: 0x0238, IRQ: 4
The problems start when I try to watch the raw output of the serial port.
I run xxd over /dev/ttyS0 and I get no output until I touch the screen with
the pen (as expected). But I only get a few lines of output then xxd dies.
I've tried to setup the wacom drivers and I get similar results.
And I've tried a couple of other serial programs I have lying around (like
net2tty) and I get the same result on all of them; a moment of correct
functionality, then nothing.

Do you'all have any ideas?

Thanks,
-Dan
