Are you using it in relative or absolute mode?

We have an option to "sense" the proximity by distance for Wacom mouse
in relative.  The option is CursorProx (refer to
http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/index.php/howto/inputdev).  You can
also change CursorProx with xsetwacom command (refer to
http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/index.php/howto/xsetwacom).

If only stylus works for you, there might be something wrong in your
driver setup.  Pad means the buttons and menu strips on your tablet
(most people call them ExpressKeys).  Wacom driver only report raw
data from pad. You need special program to utilize pad.  Stylus,
eraser, and cursor are the ones that Wacom driver has feature support.

Before I can troubleshoot  the driver for you, I need to know which
linuxwacom version is running on your system and what's in your
xorg.conf file for Wacom InputDevice.
