I don't know if linuxwacom-0.7.7-4 contains a more recent kernel driver than the 2.6.19 kernel source tree, but version 0.7.7-4 doesn't built a (correct version of the) kernel module on a system run by a 2.6.19 kernel. It generates a kernel module in the directory src/2.6.18 but this in not compatible with the 2.6.19 kernel.
Probably there is something wrong in your workflow to build the kernel module.
I've built it on 2.6.19 without any problem.If it build something in /lib/modules/2.4.18, you probably have done something wrong when doing the configuration step.
