I have just installed the last linuxwacom stable driver, 0.7.6 and it
qorks like a charm in my Ubuntu Dapper box.
Thans Ping for your excellent job. All the old problems with wacom are
solved for me, now the pointer doesn't have problems in the bottom
part of the screen and the jiggle effect when the pen is stop is
solved. Thanks a lot.
For anybody who needs some help about updating in Dapper youy only need these:
- Downlaod last linuxwacom driver version.
- Install your linux-headers-X package, depending the kernel you are
using, you can install the generic linux-headers package:
sudo apt-get install linux-headers
- Uncompress and configure linuxwacom to build the wacom kernel
module, and not compile the X module:
./configure --enable-wacom --disable-wacomdrv
- Build:
./make
- Copy your wacom kernel module into you kernel modules path.
- Copy the prebuilt wacom_drv.so driver into the xorg modules in
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/input
- You can restart or manually unload the wacom driver and load the new one.
- Because you need to restart the X server too I recomend to restart
the whole system if this is not a problem for you.
- Enjoy this last linuxwacom release, is pretty good.
